Chet Weinbaum with wife and grandchildren.
This blog entry is intended to introduce myself to those of you in the community.
A short version of my professional life is as follows; I graduated from the University of Maryland in 1980 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. I then went on to get my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology at Nova University and worked as an individual, group, and couples counselor for approximately seven years. From there I went on to the University of Florida where I got my law degree, with academic honors, in 1993.
Because of my degree and experience in counseling, I was able to get certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a family law mediator while in law school. When I graduated I continued to work as a family law mediator in addition to my attorney work.
When I went on my own in 1996. I continued the work as a family law mediator, family law attorney, and a trial attorney in various areas including contract, employment and injury law. I have continued this work with emphasis on family law, and the areas of contract, injury, and criminal law.
My goal is to move to a weekly blog addressing trends and areas of interest in family law and injury law. I invite any suggestions on what would be useful and look forward to creating an active dialogue.
